How can we draw movement?

Mark making can exist in different forms, drawing, painting, why not light over time?

Using long exposure ‘light paiinting’ techniques to explore the drawing of qigong and taiji 
movements from ancient China.

Beginning as a research + development project in Trevone Bay in Cornwall, then commissioned by Naomi Kendrick for an ACE funded project delivered at Manchester Art Gallery.

Drawing Movement at MAG was a collaborative piece of work performed with members Manchester Community Qigong Group as well as the general public. Which ever group was not in the performance were encouraged to draw the movements of light of the other group as they moved. You can see below the shapes are very similar to the light drawings above.
